Electronic Signature Regulations 2002

The Electronic Signature Regulations 2002 is used in conjunction with the Electronic Communication Act 2000 to implement the EU framework for electronic signatures directive.

This directive is designed to regulate Certification Service Providers what liability they are responsible for and how they handle the data protected by their certificates. A certificate authenticates the provider of information or data by providing identification and linking information between the data and provider.
